This is dangerous

On Monday, we wrote this, warning of a "perfect storm", as financial stresses build up in the system. And today we get this, recording the lowest level of household spending for ten years. Yet, as Quentin Letts comments , the political classes are oblivious to it all. They are truly in a world of their own, as Peter Hitchens would aver.

The signs of stress, as Raedwald points out, are unmistakable. I've said it before, but it cannot be repeated too often. This is dangerous. When there is that degree of disengagement, the end result is always violence. In these volatile and disturbing times, we need politicians who are on the ball. Instead, we have Cameron and his cronies. These fools will bring us all down.
